Written by Kenjo Marketing

Open the career site settings

You'll find the career site settings in the Recruiting settings. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site. The settings have five areas, listed from top to bottom: General, Logo and Favicon, Company links, Privacy Policy, and Career site builder.

  1. In the main navigation, click Recruiting.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

  3. In the Career site group on the left, select the area you want.

If you don't see the Settings tab, your user doesn't have access to the Recruiting settings. Ask an admin to give you access.

Set up the general settings

In General, you choose the address and language of your career site and where candidate emails go. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site > General and click Save after you make changes. This area also contains Career site activation. Turn it on last, after everything else is set up.

Setting

What you set

Hide "All job openings" link

Hides the "All job openings" link on the job opening detail page and in the application form. The link leads back to the Kenjo career site.

Career site subdomain

Candidates find your career site at this subdomain, for example careers-yourcompany.kenjo.io. You can use letters, numbers, and hyphens.

Career site language

The default language of your career site. Choose the language most of your visitors use.

Career site info

Info that improves your brand and SEO. It also shows when you share job openings on social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. Enter Title for career site, Brief company description, and Company name. The company name is required.

Email to candidate

Use this email address to forward candidates from your own mailbox to Kenjo. Kenjo then creates a new candidate automatically. To set up an automatic forwarding rule in your email server, follow the instructions described by Google here.

Redirection of lost emails

Choose an email address. Kenjo forwards emails there when they come from candidates who don't exist in Kenjo.

Note: Lost emails usually happen when a deleted or archived candidate replies to an email you sent earlier. For example, you reject a candidate and send them an email. After you delete or archive the candidate, they reply to your email. Kenjo can't match the reply because the profile no longer exists, so it sends the email to the address you set in Redirection of lost emails.

Set your logo, favicon, and colors

You set your logo, favicon, hero image, and colors in Logo and Favicon, not in the builder. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site > Logo and Favicon and click Save after you make changes. The Header block shows the logo you upload here. A block is a section of your career site page, for example a header, a text, or an image.

Field

Note

Company logo

The logo of your career site. Click (+) Company logo to add it.

Use a PNG with a transparent background. Recommended size: 250 × 100 px.

Company favicon

The small icon in the browser tab. It helps visitors find your page when they have many tabs open. Click (+) Company favicon to add it.

Use a PNG with 32 × 32 pixels. Kenjo scales larger images down automatically.

Hero image

The image in the hero section, the top part of your career site that visitors see first. Click (+) Hero image to add it.

You crop the image at a 5:1 aspect ratio when you upload it, for example 1600 × 320 px. Click Remove image to delete it.

Hero background colour

The color of the hero section when you don't upload an image.

Required. Format: #XXXXXX.

Brand colour

The color of buttons and links on your career site.

Required. Format: #XXXXXX.

Add your company links

In Company links, you save the addresses where candidates can learn more about your company. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site > Company links. You can enter Company website, Company blog, Company LinkedIn, Company Facebook, Company Twitter, and Company privacy policy. Add the link to your company's privacy policy page here as well. The Footer block shows these links at the bottom of the page. Click Save after you make changes.

When your career site is active, you'll also find the link View career site here.

Set up your privacy policy

In Privacy Policy, you decide how candidates learn about the handling of their data and whether they have to consent. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site > Privacy Policy.

  • Company Link: Add a link to your company's privacy policy.

  • Privacy Policy: This text shows on all job openings. You can edit it for your company.

  • Consent: Choose whether candidates have to acknowledge your privacy policy before they apply (Consent has to be acknowledged) or whether consent is given automatically (Consent is granted by default).

This is what it looks like when a candidate applies:

Design your career site in the builder

In the Career site builder, you put your career site together from blocks. A block is a section of the page, for example a text, an image, or the list of your job openings. Every block has two areas: Content and General style.

  1. Go to Recruiting > Settings > Career site and click Career site builder.

  2. Select the block you want, for example Text or Image gallery.

  3. In Content, fill in the block, for example with text or images.

  4. In General style, adjust padding, background, and color.

  5. Click Save changes.

The builder replaces the settings page. Click Discard changes to undo your changes.

Understand which blocks are available

The builder offers ten blocks, each with a fixed purpose. Use the Text block or the fields in the Hero block for text, and never an image with text.

Block

What you use it for

What you set

Header

Shows the company logo at the top of the page.

The logo comes from Logo and Favicon.

Footer

Shows your company links at the bottom of the page.

The links come from Company links. Empty fields don't show.

Active positions

Shows all job openings with the status "active" as a list.

Turn on Enable job opening grouping, then select a grouping under Grouping: Alphabetically, Company, Office, Department, or Job opening type.

Hero

Shows a large image with a header and a subheader.

Click Select an image and write your text in the fields Header... and Subheader....

Text

Shows headings and body text.

Double-click the text to change the font and shape.

Image

Shows a single image.

Click Select an image.

Image gallery

Shows several images next to each other, for example photos of your office.

Click (+) and select the images.

Team

Introduces team members with a photo.

Click Add team member. Use Show name and Show job title to display name and job title below the photo.

YouTube video

Embeds a YouTube video.

Enter the video in the YouTube video id field and click Save.

Custom HTML

Adds your own HTML code for special cases.

Enter the code in the HTML code field.

Group active positions

When you turn on grouping, your career site shows filters and a search bar for the job openings. Filters and search aren't available if you only include the job listing widget in an iframe. They work on Kenjo career sites or when you include the entire career page in the iframe. If there are no active job openings, the page shows the message "No job openings are available at this moment."

Use the Hero block

Write the header and subheader in the fields Header... and Subheader..., not in the image. That way you can change the text at any time.

Use the Text, Image, Image gallery, Team, and YouTube video blocks

Prepare your images

Upload images only in the size they appear on the page, and compress them first. Large image files increase the loading time of your career site. Use the formats PNG, JPG, or JPEG. The sizes below apply to the images in Logo and Favicon and in the blocks of the builder, which are the sections of your career site page.

Element

Recommended size

Company logo (Logo and Favicon)

250 × 100 px, PNG with transparent background

Company favicon (Logo and Favicon)

32 × 32 px, PNG

Hero image (Logo and Favicon)

5:1 aspect ratio, for example 1600 × 320 px

Team photo (Team block)

256 × 256 px

Use text and images the right way

Build text, lists, and headings with the Text block or the fields in the Hero block, and never as an image. Blocks are the sections of your career site page. You can't edit text inside an image in the builder, and large images increase the loading time.

Arrange and edit blocks

Every block has the same icons on the left. Use them to change the order, the padding and colors, or to remove the block.

  • Arrows: Move the block up or down.

  • Settings icon: Opens General style. There you set Top padding, Right padding, Bottom padding, and Left padding, as well as Background and Colour.

  • Trash icon: Removes the block.

Then click Save changes.

Activate your career site

Turn on Career site activation in Recruiting > Settings > Career site > General to make your job openings accessible. Do this last, after you've set up everything else. Click Save when you're done.

After activation, click View career site in Recruiting > Settings > Career site > Company links to open your career site.

Frequently asked questions

My career site loads slowly. What can I do?

If you uploaded large images, compress them before you upload them. If you added whole sections as images, rebuild them with the Text, Hero, and Team blocks.

Can I upload whole sections of my career site as images?

We don't recommend it. You can't edit text inside images, and large images increase the loading time. Use the Text block or the fields in the Hero block for text.

Which image size and format should I use?

Use PNG, JPG, or JPEG. The logo is 250 × 100 px, the favicon is 32 × 32 px, and a team photo is 256 × 256 px. You crop the hero image at a 5:1 aspect ratio when you upload it.

Why don't I see my footer links?

The Footer block only shows links you entered in Recruiting > Settings > Career site > Company links. If nothing is entered there, the footer stays empty.

How do I see my finished career site?

Turn on Career site activation in Recruiting > Settings > Career site > General. Then click View career site in Company links. The link only appears when your career site is active.

Why don't I see the Settings tab?

If your user doesn't have access to the Recruiting settings, Kenjo hides the tab. Ask an admin to give you access.
