Note: In Admin Settings, the Attendance Kiosk is also referred to as a terminal.
Supported devices
You can run the Attendance Kiosk in two ways:
Via the Kenjo Kiosk app (recommended for permanently installed kiosks). The native app requires at least:
Android 7.0 or later
iOS 15.1 or later (iPhone and iPad)
In a web browser — the kiosk also runs as a web page. Minimum required versions:
Google Chrome 94 or later
Microsoft Edge 94 or later
Mozilla Firefox 93 or later
Safari 16.4 or later (macOS and iOS)
Choosing the right device
What matters is not the model, but that the device meets the minimum requirements:
Operating system / browser: for the app, Android 7.0+ or iOS 15.1+; in a browser, one of the versions listed above.
Screen size: A tablet (approx. 10 inches) is better suited for a permanently installed kiosk at the entrance than a smartphone.
Input method: For the PIN code method, the device needs a touchscreen or a connected keyboard. For the QR code method, a camera is sufficient.
Any device that meets these requirements will work, regardless of brand or model.
Security of the QR code method
The QR code on the kiosk changes automatically every 30 seconds. This keeps it unique and prevents it from being photographed and used later or from a different location. You cannot print the QR code and put it up — it must be scanned live from the kiosk screen.
Device availability and storage
The kiosk does not need to be permanently online. It is a web page that you can close at any time or turn off its device.
Once you start a kiosk, an admin logs in and selects the location, Welcome message, and check-in methods (QR code, PIN code, or both). These settings are saved on the device for one year. If you turn the device back on later and open the kiosk page, it automatically resumes where it left off — no need to log in again.
Managing sessions
You can find open sessions under Attendance > Settings > Kiosk & sessions. There you can change the Welcome message, adjust the displayed logo, change the available check-in methods, or log out so that no one can check in from this device anymore.
Changes are automatically pushed to the kiosk — no refresh needed, but it can take up to 30 seconds.
Admin login and delegation
Once logged in, access remains valid for one year — you do not need to log in again every day.
Using the Start kiosk permission, you can delegate this task: activate a custom profile with this permission, and employees with that profile can start kiosks without you having to step in each time.
