Import Master Data into Kenjo

The easiest and quickest way to import DATEV-related data into Kenjo is via the Kenjo Data import wizard in Settings > Data import > DATEV import.

Once you have uploaded the basic employee information using the Employee import wizard, you can then use the DATEV import to upload the DATEV-specific fields that are not part of the Kenjo employee profile.

:information_source:To ensure you upload the correct information, we recommend that you ask your accountant to extract the employee DATEV data from DATEV using this process. You can then add the correct information to this import template.

Decide if you want to activate the employees for the DATEV integration by selecting “yes” in the column “Activate DATEV”. Once the import has been done, employees will be able to see their DATEV-related data by going to their personal profile and clicking SHOW DATEV FIELDs. These employees will also be included in the DATEV export file.

Alternatively, you can decide to upload the DATEV information for certain employees but not activate them for DATEV by selecting  “yes” in the column “Activate DATEV”. Later, you can navigate to Settings > integrations > DATEV > select company payroll group > employees and add them here.

To import your employee data, follow the instructions below step by step:

  • Go to Settings > Data import and choose the type of import you would like to make. In this case, it will be "DATEV Payroll"

  • Click on IMPORT.

  • In the dropdown menu, choose your preferred language to make the import. This is necessary in order to download the template. Then, click on the "Download template" button placed at the bottom of the page.

  • Fill out the Excel template. Employees who are already added to a DATEV payroll group (Settings > integrations > DATEV > select company payroll group > employees and add employees) will have their first name, last name and email address already populated.

  • Drag and drop the file to Kenjo or upload it from your computer and click on UPLOAD.

  • You will then be asked to map the columns from the excel sheet to fields in Kenjo. Each column should be mapped. We have already mapped as many as possible based on their names. Anything that isn't automatically mapped can be manually mapped with the dropdown menu. You can always choose "Don't import column". When you are done, click on CONFIRM.
