Configure Public Holidays

Modified on Tue, 30 May 2023 at 12:33 PM

Create the calendars that are relevant for your company in order to calculate the attendance, time offs and vacation days correctly.

Go to Settings > Public holidays and click on the (+) button to add a new calendar. Enter a calendar name and select a calendar template. The newly created calendar will appear on the left side under "PUBLIC HOLIDAY CALENDARS".

You will now see a calendar interface with the imported public holidays from the respective calendar template. Tip: Hover over the respective day to view the public holiday name.

Add custom public holidays

You can add as many custom public holidays as you like to your calendar. To add a custom holiday, follow these next steps:

  • Click on the respective date within the calendar interface
  • Enter the relevant information (name, date, duration)
  • Click on ADD PUBLIC HOLIDAY
  • Your new custom holiday will now be marked with a blue border

Add calendars to your offices

Lastly, don't forget to attach your calendars to your respective offices. You can add one template per office located in a different city or region.

Navigate to Settings > My Company > Companies > "Attach calendar section" and add the corresponding calendar.

Keep in mind that, if you change the calendar of an office, upcoming time off requests can be affected.

Be aware that the calendars overlap, with each calendar overriding the previous one. Each one of your employees has three calendars: company, office, and home office. These three calendars overlap each other in this order:

Company < Office < Virtual office

This means that the office calendar overrides the company calendar, and the Virtual office calendar overrides the office calendar.
