Edit shifts

Modified on Mon, 22 Aug 2022 at 03:27 PM

As a shift manager, you often have to change, extend or reduce shift timings, or maybe add some extra notes about upcoming tasks. Most importantly, you sometimes need to change the role, tags, locations, or working areas of the shift based on your workplace needs.

Therefore, you are able to edit both published and unpublished shifts by clicking on the pencil icon within your shift card.

Navigate to Shiftplan > Schedules > Click on any published shift > Click on the pencil icon  > Employee.

Once you click on the pencil icon, all the fields in the shift details become editable. That means that you can now edit and change any field, such as:

  • The date of the shift

  • Start time and end time,

  • Role, location, working areas and tags

  • Employee assigned and

  • Shift notes.

After you have made your changes, you can then save the shift and you will see a confirmation that the shift has been edited.

What happens after the shift has been edited?

  • The shift is relocated in case there are changes in the date or employees.

  • The capacity details on the amount of scheduled shifts are updated for both the employee and the total planned capacity.

  • If you changed only the shift details without changing the employee assigned, then the employee will get a push notification on their mobile device (if you decided to notify the employee).

  • If you decided not to notify your employee, the changes will be directly published and updated on the employee’s Kenjo mobile app. They can directly see the changes when they navigate to that particular shift.
